Louis C.K. is one of our favorite comedians, and he’s currently at the top of his game. According to some he is “America’s Undisputed King of Comedy,” and like the great comedians that preceded him, the things he says are “painfully hilarious and true.”

Louis C.K. gets a little serious about texting and driving during an appearance on Conan
Texting and driving is serious, and has become a leading cause of death for teen drivers according to a 2013 study. So when we came across this clip from one of Louis C.K.’s Conan appearances, where he focuses his famous brand of comedic genus at the nonsensical practice of texting and driving, we felt compelled to share.
Of course, there are many more basic and immediately pressing reasons not to text and drive, and let’s face it, it’s not just teens who do it. See this infographic for more and take the quiz for yourself.
Texting and driving, or distracted driving, makes a crash 23 times more likely as it dramatically takes your attention from the road. To put this in perspective, a 5 second texting and driving distraction while traveling at 55 mph equates to the length of a football field. That’s a lot of travel distance at a high rate of speed with no one at the wheel.
Even with all the news, statistics, and parental nudging, statistics show that 800,000 people are texting and driving at any given time. It’s time to get a bit more serious about texting and driving.
