How the IroinPoint Story Started With a Good Idea

The IronPoint story begins with two friends discussing ways to help small insurance agencies gain more success. It’s now a fast-growing digital insurance operation.

After adding online quote & buy directly on the IronPoint site, we discovered there is a broad appetite for Mexico Trousim products online. We added an additional Mexico insurance partner, Mexico Insurance Online, and expanded our products to include GNP, El Aguila, and ABA Chubb Seguros. With additional online capacity, we launched


Expanded insurance products to include Mexico Tourism

Seeing the need for Mexican tourism insurance for some of our policyholders, IronPoint expanded its products to offer tourism products through a partnership with Sun Coast General Insurance. Now, IronPoint could offer the Mapfre Tepyac product to its personal and business insurance customers. Later, we added a relationship with MexiPass adding products offered through AIG and CHUBB, including the ability to quote & buy Mexico Tourism auto insurance online.



With the founder’s previous career experience working with GEICO and Esurance, there was always an appetite to allow consumers to quote home & auto insurance online. In 2017, IronPoint Insurance Services, LLC launched a comparison home and auto insurance platform, On, consumers can compare the rates of our partner insurance carriers online before they decided to purchase.

The Integration of External Applications

With the launch of, we dug deeper into technology. We integrated HubSpot into our tech stack, incorporated service ticket tracking, and launched a mobile app.


IronPoint Joins SIAA

A new direction for the agency

Seeking to diversify our carrier relationships and to expand quickly into new states, IronPoint teams up with Agents United and joins forces with SIAA.

Expansion of our carrier portfolio

With our partnership with Agent United and SIAA, IronPoint was able to expand its carrier partnerships to include Nationwide, Liberty Mutual, Berkshire Hathaway GUARD, The Hartford, CSE, AmTrust, and Chubb. Additionally, we expanded into the states of Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, Washington, and Utah.


Insurance Carriers

First carriers & member agencies contracted

The IronPoint story cannot be told properly without its insurance carrier partners. We knew we needed financially secure partners, with broad personal and commercial products, and a reputation for delivering excellent service. We found these partners in MetLife Auto & Home, Safeco, Travelers, and Progressive. After securing our foundational carriers, we began recruiting member agencies. Our journey began.

IronPoint Insurance Founders

We founded IronPoint Insurance Services, LLC

The IronPoint story starts with its founders Scott Boren and Shiv Gupta. Both worked in leadership roles with a large, premium insurance carrier, and thought it was a good idea to help smaller insurance agencies gain access to their experience and premium-branded, financially secure insurance carriers. In 2010, IronPoint was originally founded offering independent insurance agents the ability to get access to insurance carriers and partner with a larger agency.
